New Process to Submit Age Rate Guarantee Applications

The Harvard Pilgrim Age Rate Guarantee makes it easy for any Medicare Supplement member to try a Medicare Advantage, Stride (HMO) plan.

If, after enrolling in a Stride (HMO) plan, the member decides they don’t like it, they have the option to go back to a Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Medicare Supplement plan at their original issue age.  This program helps to save members money on their premium and removes concern about making the change.

If a Stride (HMO) member who has been on the plan for up to 12 months, wants to go back to a Medicare Supplement plan, here is the process:

  1. HPHC Medicare Supplement paper applications are required for AGE RATE GUARANTEE.
  2. Attach the completed form as the cover page to the paper enrollment application.
  3. The application must be emailed encrypted to medicarebroker@point32health.org
  4. The subject of the email must say “AGE RATE GUARANTEE”.

It is important that we can identify the application because it is processed differently.  The process requires us to work with the Enrollment team AND the Finance team to adjust the premium appropriately.
