Peak Mind Series

This popular mindfulness series for BILH employees and spouses focuses on the work of Dr. Amishi Jha, a neuroscientist, professor, author, and speaker whose groundbreaking research shows how mindfulness practice can improve brain power, mood and performance in just 12 minutes a day. Dr. Jha has worked with first responders, the U.S. military, and many others who must perform at the highest level in high stress, high stakes environments.

Session 1: Tame the Wandering Mind

When our attention is impacted by stressful situations, we become more likely to make errors, and it becomes difficult to take in new information. How can we make sure to keep our attention pointed in the right direction?

Session 2: Strengthen Memory

When we’re distracted, it becomes more difficult for our brains to encode what’s happening in front of us into long-term memory. Connecting with the body is the gateway to making durable memories out of present moment experiences.

Session 3: Meet Dr. Amishi Jha!

In this session, we welcome Dr. Amishi Jha, who will talk in depth about her research and answers questions.

Beautiful Boards and Platters: A Guide to the Modern Day Charcuterie Board

When you think of charcuterie boards, the first thing that comes to mind is meat and cheese, but the modern definition of charcuterie (pronounced “shahr-ku-tuh-ree”) is a selection of food that offers contrasts, various textures, and different colors. Consumed in a group, the focus of the charcuterie board is food that is easy to eat. Finger food is the goal — no cutlery needed.
